- Parent Chill-Out Hour
Mindfulness is being aware of the present moment, fully and without judgement. It’s about not getting caught up in thoughts of the past or worries about the future. Being able to focus only on the ‘here and now’, and the impact your thoughts are having on your emotions and how your body is reacting and feels.
A growing body of evidence has found that when people intentionally practice being mindful they feel less stressed, anxious and depressed. And, over time, mindfulness can bring about long-term changes in mood and levels of happiness and wellbeing. This can result in calmness allowing us to better deal with emotions and chaotic thoughts, whilst increasing our awareness of ourselves.

Parent Chill-Out Hour
These chill-out sessions take place in 6 week blocks on Wednesday mornings from 9.30-10.30am.
Come along for an hour of total you-time after the hectic school run. These sessions comprise one hour of pampering relaxation using a range of proven relaxation and calming practices. There will be a focus on the senses and an opportunity to experience soothing sounds and aromas as you chill-out in a calming environment.
Mindfulness will be introduced, as well as muscle relaxation techniques and some visualisation. Each week you will be guided through a range of strategies and sensory soothing techniques to allow you to leave feeling relaxed, refreshed and ready to face the day.
Blankets and mats are required but may be provided on request.
