Podiatry

Patricia decided to become a Podiatrist at the age of thirteen, her mother sustained a foot injury as a child which resulted in her attending regular Podiatry/Chiropody treatment. On seeing the relief that her mother received from Podiatry/Chiropody Patricia decided to pursue a career in it.

Patricia graduated from the University of Southampton (L.S.U College) having completed a BSc (Hons) Podiatry degree with State Registration in 1995.

From there she worked for the NHS for nearly 25 years and was a Podiatry Manager at a local Health Centre who specialised in high-risk diabetic foot and wound care. She is a Royal College of Podiatry Accredited Clinical Educator and co-ordinated, supervised and examined Podiatry students from the University of Brighton for over 20 years.

Patricia has had research published in the British Journal of Podiatry and had a poster presentation at the King’s Fund, London. Patricia was selected by Rotary to spend time in Ohio, America observing Podiatric practice.

Keeping up to date is important for Patricia and she has completed numerous postgraduate courses, including MSc Module in Pharmacology, diabetic courses, conferences and various musculoskeletal courses.

Patricia absolutely loves her profession and enjoys meeting people, relieving their pain and keeping them mobile.
